For this project, I had to make a design only using typography. I had a lot of fun with this project. When I began, I knew that I wanted to make something really cool for the expressive poster, but I wasn't sure what exactly to do. I came across a picture of a praying mantis that I thought was so beautiful and vibrant, and I knew I wanted to recreate it. I used many different typefaces in order to create the specific shapes that were included with my mantis. I used some gradients to attempt to create a more realistic praying mantis and not make it so bulky. My colors for this project were the colors of the praying mantis, I used a color dropper to find exactly what color to use. I chose a white type because the contrast was best with white, and it definitely gave the poster more of a professional feel. I used Lubalin as the headline because I really like the look of it, and it's just the perfect poster headline type. I used Arial as the body copy because it is nice and legible.
